VHM pistons are 100% CNC machined from high quality solid billet material. With our Takisawa lathe we are able to turn elliptical shaped pistons with very high precision. This mitigates engine lockups. Another feature of most of our pistons is an inside coating, which reduces micro welding, lowers the friction on the pin, prevents piston bore galling and provides a very good thermal conduction.
Important to keep in mind the correct piston-cylinder clearance when mounting a piston, which you can find on the packing list (included in each VHM piston box). We've created an instruction video on how to measure the bore size and thus piston-cylinder clearance.

We produce two piston models: direct replacement and special models. The direct replacement pistons are a standard model, which can be placed into your engine with no other adjustments needed. The special models are for maximum performance gain, which can only be used in your engine together with a special VHM insert or for example with a longer connecting rod. We have many special 12 degree pistons.
We do sometimes make custom pistons. We have a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces, but it also depends on the specifications of the piston. Our focus lies on the range of Ø40 - Ø60mm. See for more information on our Custom Parts page.
