What size should the piston ring end gap be? All our piston boxes contain a small assembly list, which includes the information about the size of the piston ring end gap. Is the piston ring end gap you measure the same as noted on the assembly list? Then you're good.
Is the piston ring end gap you measure too small? Then you can use a small file to make the gap a bit wider, so it matches the size that's prescribed. See below image for the file we use:
